athenahealth - Online Course

Description: This module is designed to teach employees at athenahealth, a healthcare service and software company, how to understand Explanations of Benefits (EOBs). EOBs are documents received from health insurance companies that explain how a claim was adjudicated.

Highlights: The module uses real EOBs to illustrate the standard elements of an EOB. When a user rolls her mouse over names of standard elements contained in an EOB, the elements are highlighted in the EOB and a written explanation accompanied by audio is presented. Payment concepts are illustrated using the specific dollar amounts in the EOBs shown.

Assessment: An EOB is displayed and the user is asked to calculate payment amounts and identify standard elements using the data found in the EOB.

My Role: Working with a content expert, I produced and designed this entire module including the content, animations, audio, and assessments.
